Under the context of achieving ambitious carbon neutrality target, in order to furtherly support the Chinese national ETS development, and continually improve the ability of provincial and municipal Ecological Environment Bureaus and key enterprises to address climate change and to be well prepared with the fully operation of the national carbon emission trading market, EU-China ETS Cooperation Project that is sponsored by the EU Commission, continued to deliver successfully three trainings in Yunnan Province, Baicheng, Jinlin Province and Qiqihar, Heilongjiang Province respectively in June 2021. 

Experts from National Center for Climate Change Strategy and International Cooperation, Renmin University of China, Tsinghua University, Central University of Finance and Economics, SinoCarbon, ICF, China Electricity Council (CEC), Hubei Carbon Emissions Exchange, Shanghai Environment and Energy Exchange, Zhejiang Provincial Energy Group Carbon Assets Management Co. Ltd., China-UK Low Carbon College, and Policy Research Center for Environmental and Economy were invited to share their insights and experience in terms of China's work plan response to climate change, the prospect of "14th Five-Year Plan" and the policy interpretation and outlook of national carbon neutrality and carbon peaking, introduction of basic knowledge and the latest policies of the national carbon market, collaborative promotion of pollution reduction and carbon reduction under the background of carbon peak, introduction and case sharing of the construction of carbon neutral demonstration zone and the construction of near-zero carbon emission demonstration zone, roadmap for the development of carbon capture, utilization, and storage technology, case sharing of climate investment and green finance, demonstration on the operation of the national carbon emission rights registration system, introduction to corporate carbon asset management and the other topics. 

Representatives of local Department of Ecological Environment and the Department of Climate Change delivered opening remarks and emphasized the significance of participation this training to prepare and participate well in China's nationwide ETS. More than 700 participants from regional Ecological Environment Bureaus and key emission enterprises participated in these trainings.
