Under the context of achieving ambitious carbon neutrality target, in order to furtherly support the Chinese national ETS development, and continually improve the ability of provincial and municipal Ecological Environment Bureaus and key enterprises to address climate change and to be well engaged with the fully operation of the national carbon emission trading market, EU-China ETS Cooperation Project that is sponsored by the EU Commission, delivered two successful trainings for Sichuan Province that respectively conducted in Leshan City and Suining City in September 2021.

Experts from National Center for Climate Change Strategy and International Cooperation, Shanghai Environment and Energy Exchange, Yudean Group, Sichuan United Environment Exchange, Hubei Carbon Emissions Exchange, Zheneng Carbon Assets and SinoCarbon shared their professional views on basic knowledge of the carbon market and interpretation of the latest national carbon market policies, interpretation of the latest policy of the greenhouse gas emission reporting system for power generation companies, the total allowance allocation setting and allocation method, interpretation of national carbon emission rights registration rules, introduction to the rules of national carbon emissions trading and system display, cases and related introductions of corporate carbon emission management system construction, introduction to the exploration and practice of climate investment and green finance, carbon emission verification related data monitoring and quality control, the relationship between forestry carbon sinks and the market, and introduction of voluntary emission reduction transactions.

Representatives of local Ecological and Environment Bureaus (EEBs) delivered opening remarks and emphasized the significance of participation in the trainings to participate well in China's nationwide ETS. About 200 participants from regional Ecological Environment Bureaus and key emission enterprises participated in the training.
