The 5th session of the virtual training for power sector was successfully delivered on 19 July 2023 under the EU-China ETS Dialogue and Cooperation Platform Project.

Over the past four virtual trainings for power that are prepared and delivered, the China Electricity Council received the demands from power sector to further learn from MRV of EU-ETS, including but not limited to the subject of historical evolution of MRV rules in power sector, provisions of the current MRV, as well as responsibilities, obligations of all parties, which will help Chinese power plants understand how to improve the operation and management of MRV related works. 

As response to these demands, Dr. Robert Gemmill, a former policy advisor of EU Directorate-General for Climate Action, who has comprehensive experience on monitoring, reporting, verification and accreditation in the EU ETS was invited to give an online lecture on MRV in EU ETS History and Development. 26 trainees from power industry across China took part in the online training in Beijing.
