Hosted by Jilin Provincial Department of Ecology and Environment, a training conference on Jilin eco-environment authorities and power industry was held in Changchun on February 27-28, 2019. It's a capacity building activity under the EU-China ETS Project. More than 200 officials and business representatives from cities and prefectures across the province attended the training session.

The conference invited experts and scholars from the National Climate Strategy Center, China Academy of Environmental Sciences, Tsinghua University, Shanghai Environmental Energy Exchange, and Beijing Sino-Carbon to give lectures. The main contents of the training cover the basic principles of carbon trading, the progress of the national carbon trading system, allocation, MRV, compliance, trading and market regulation, and interactive simulation of carbon trading.

This is the second in a series of national carbon market capacity building activities. The first event was hosted by the Jiangxi Provincial Department of Ecology and Environment. It was held in Nanchang, Jiangxi Province on December 27-28, 2018. The two-day training was designed for the staff from ecological environment regulatory bodies and power companies in Jiangxi Province.
