On August 7th - 8th,the ETS Capacity Building Training in Qingdao was successfully held.
Han Hongyan, Deputy Director of Qingdao Eco-Environment Bureau, Octavian Stamate, Counsellor of Energy and Climate Action of EU Delegation to China, Ma Aimin, Deputy Director of Climate Strategy Center of the Ministry of Environment, and Wang Shu, EU-China ETS Platform project delivered speeches on the opening remarks respectively. More than 140 local officials and industrial representatives attended the training.
Other 3 training sessions on the same themes were organized in Sichuan, Gansu, and Shanxi Province in August. The training covers China's goals and ideas coping with climate change, the basic principles of carbon trading,the progress of national carbon trading system construction, allocation, MRV, offset mechanism, compliance and market supervision, practical experience in pilot carbon market operations and relevant content of large-scale enterprise carbon management experience.
The feedbacks from the trainees were very positive. The trainees demonstrated that they systematically studied the theoretical knowledge of climate change, carbon market, carbon trading, carbon verification and carbon asset management, and improved their professional skills and business level.
